On Tuesday this week, Club Sapphire bid farewell to one of its most beloved staff members, Ross “Bugs” Emerson, who retired after an incredible 23 years of dedicated service to the Club. Bugs leaves behind a legacy of hard work, laughter, and invaluable contributions that have touched the hearts of many.
Remembering Bugs’ Contributions
During his time at Club Sapphire, Bugs wore many hats and excelled in various roles that showcased his versatility and passion for his work. From being a reliable storeman to a skilled furniture removalist, Bugs always went above and beyond to ensure the smooth running of operations.
His knowledge and expertise were not limited to logistics; Bugs was also known as the go-to adviser for all, offering valuable insights and guidance to both staff and patrons. Beyond his professional duties, Bugs shared his love for music and movies, earning him the title of a historian in these realms.
However, Bugs wasn’t just all work and no play. His natural wit and humour made him a favourite among colleagues and visitors alike, earning him the reputation of a comedian who could light up any room with his jokes and infectious laughter.
Overall, Bugs was more than just a staff member; he was a friend, a mentor, and an all-round good guy who brought joy and positivity wherever he went.
A Tribute to Bugs
As we bid farewell to Bugs, we also look forward to welcoming him back to Club Sapphire, especially during tribute shows where his favourite 70’s and 80’s music takes centre stage. Bugs’ presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the memories and stories shared by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Join us in celebrating Bugs’ remarkable tenure at Club Sapphire and honouring the mark he has left on our community. Let’s raise a toast to Bugs and the invaluable contributions he has made over the years.
